On the 10th of October 2015, ten people and one unborn child tragically lost their lives in a fire, at a halting site in Carrickmines, Co. Dublin. I have written this song in memory of them, and the awful plight they suffered may they rest in peace.
An Lucht Siúil translates as 'the walking people' and is the old Irish term for the travelling community. No one in Ireland should be persecuted or discriminated against because of their ethnicity. ***This song is free to download.***

Ten dead in Carrickmines let us not forget the unborn child.
What will it take to end the divide? The priest at the funerals took to the stand and had a go at the settled clans.
How would they like to walk in the shoes of the marginalized and be burnt to a crisp before their families eyes.
Irish blood pumps through our veins the blood of ancestors who begun the hate.
Judging people by the roof over their head, then mocking the dead. Made beds, enough said.
Eight long years they waited for a permanent site.
Broken promises led to lost lives.
Bricks and mortar house authorities shame a festering fungus they pass the blame. Fake sympathy came from Higgins and Kenny.
